Our hotel in Santorini is The Golden Sunset Villas, right on the western edge of the caldera. The best view of Sunsets on the island! Our taxi-driver from the port, Nikos, offered to give us a tour of Santorini, two hours for 80 Euros. We took his card.
Upon arrival, our room was hot and the air conditioning was not working. We were very warm, so I went up to tell Spiradoula and Kiriakos that we were not comfortable. They were very nice and said they would be right down to help. When I returned to the room, April had worked with the air conditioning remote control and got the air conditioning going. We were able to adjust it to work correctly. I ran back up to tell them that everything was fine, that I’m sorry to have complained. I should not have rushed to complain so quickly. We worked out our sleeping arrangements and settled into this interesting accommodation with kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and living room.
We met our neighbors in unit 2; a lovely couple from Austria, here on vacation – a two-hour flight from their home! Quite different from our flight! April and I sat on our patio and exchanged small talk with our neighbors.
The view from here is that of an eagle; high on the cliff, blue water below, ships gliding past, birds flying at eye-level, the golden sun setting in the west. Unforgettable! We watched a magnificent sunset from our spectacular spot. Wow! We had bought groceries earlier, so we just sat there, had a glass of wine, took pictures and had a light dinner. Oh God! Thank you for this experience! I feel closer to You. I wish my Michael were here to see what I am seeing and feel what I am feeling.
