Discovering Paris Department Stores

May 16, 2008 - Department Stores, St. Germaine Dist.

We took the bus to Pringtemps department store. We went to the cafe on the roof and I was amazed at perhaps the best view of Paris in the city! It was panoramic. Took some great pictures of the Paris views.

Two iconic landmarks, The Eiffel Tower and the Church of Sacre Coeur

I had sautéed chicken and vegetables. Then we walked to the Lafayette department store to see the fashion show there. The dome to this store is not to be believed! It is a true landmark!

The dome's stained glass surpasses that in many churches, and the fashion models were lovely

We went to an outdoor cafe and had a beer and people-watched. Then we came home and freshened up. We took the 95 bus to the St. Germaine District. Fabulous! A dramatic sky provided a backdrop to the historic buildings.

We ate dinner at a restaurant cafe called "Le Petit Zinc". I had a wonderful fish dish and Bobbie had duck. Again we were lucky to have an adorable and efficient waiter. Each experience is unique and makes these days such a pleasure. I am lucky to have a friend like Bobbie.

Le Petit Zinc restaurant, you can see the rain has already started.

As we were ready to walk a bit and go home, we were caught in a downpour. My shoes were soaked! We found the train station, after some time in the downpour, and took the RER train to Invalides, then changed to the Metro 13 to St. Denis. Then home. We stayed up and talked until 3:00 a.m.
